Market introduction:

The updated BMW Z4 was launched in India on 08 April 2019.

Variants:

The BMW Z4 is available in two variants that include the sDrive 20i and M40i.

Engine and transmission:

Under the hood, the Z4 sDrive20i is powered by a 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 194bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. The vehicle is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in 6.6 seconds. The M Sport package variant, the Z4 M40i, is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder inline engine that produces a total power output of 335bhp and a maximum torque of 500Nm. The engines come mated to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission.

Exterior:

In terms of design, the BMW Z4 Roadster gets a long bonnet along with the classic soft top and short overhangs that define the characteristic roadster silhouette of the car. The BMW convertible also gets a new mesh grille and distinctive vertically aligned LED headlights. The large aerodynamic air vents on the front wheel arches further enhance its sporty appeal. As for the rear, the Roadster gets slim LED taillights, a distinctive rear spoiler, a diffuser, and exhaust tailpipes. The company claims that the electric soft-top opens in mere 10 seconds.

Interior:

As for the interior, the Z4 Roadster offers driver seat memory function and increased storage space behind the seats with a retaining net, large cupholders under the centre armrest cover, and roomy door pockets. On the other hand, the standard specification for the BMW Z4 M40i includes a leather and Alcantara interior with blue contrast stitching and blue piping. As an alternative to the standard Quartz Silver, the trim finishers can also be outfitted in high-gloss black, aluminium mesh effect or aluminium tetragon. Furthermore, the M sports seats come with additional adjustment options, including the M leather steering wheel.

Safety and features:

Safety features include active protection, forward collision mitigation, speed limit sign recognition, smart device integration and six airbags. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are standard across all the variants. 

Seating capacity:

The BMW Z4 has a seating capacity of two occupants.

Colours:

The Z4 is offered in Alpine White, Glacier Silver, Black Sapphire Metallic, San Francisco Red Metallic, Mineral White, and Mediterranean Blue colour options.

The BMW Z4 rivals the Porsche Boxster, the Jaguar F-Type, and Audi TT.
