DESCRIPTION Honda NX500 Standard

Honda NX500 is expected to launch in India in July 2024 in the expected price range of ₹ 8,00,000 to ₹ 9,00,000. Currently available bikes which are similar to NX500 are Moto Morini X-Cape, Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT & Honda XL750 Transalp. Another bike similar to NX500 is Yamaha Tenere 700 which is launching in December 2024 in India.

The Honda NX500 is a renamed and revamped version of the CB500X that was on sale in India. The new marketing term stands for ‘New x-over’ or cross over.

And to keep with the theme, the NX500 is suited as a adventure touring motorcycle with a larger windscreen and new LED headlamp. The fairing is now bigger than the CB500X giving it a much stronger road presence. Even the tail lamp is new. That said, Honda has dropped the kerb weight by using lighter wheels.

As for features it comes with a five-inch TFT screen that is new and now comes with a Bluetooth system. Powering the NX500 is a 471cc parallel-twin engine which has undergone some upgrades to make it smoother, and that has been done using a crank counterweight and balancer shaft. However, the overall power figure remains the same at 47bhp. The suspension has been retuned to perform better on-road as well as off-road.

We expect Honda to launch this new NX500 in India early next year, and it will replace the CB500X. However, it is yet to be known if Honda will price the motorcycle well this time around.
